The Youngest Aasland

My youngest sister, Kristine "Krissy" Aasland Floyd had her first baby on April 1st.  Her name is Karly Jeanette Floyd.  She has the same middle name as my mother and I.  She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20" long.  I need to see the brother-in-law's baby pictures but I do think that Karly looks like an Aasland.

I was annoyed with my sister during her pregnancy since she did not want to know the sex of the baby.  I would go shopping for the baby and had a hard time finding what to buy based on neutral colors.  I did send her 2 baby blankets, one being pink, that I got from each of my grandmothers for my daughters.  The pink quilt was originally started by our maternal grandmother for Krissy when she was born, but was not finished.  My mom finished it when my daughter Kendra was born in 1999.  (Krissy was born in 1972).

I cannot wait to see this beautiful girl up close!  I wish I lived closer so I can see her sooner rather than later.

Callie's Walks

This is a picture of the gate in our back yard that Callie loves to go through so we can go walking on the green belt looking for birds, rabbits and deer.  We try to go for a walk every day, but some days I do not have the time to take her.  She does have 2 acres to roam on so even though I get a sad face on those days, she still has a great time outside in her yard.  She is so happy on those walks.  She is able to run and gets a great workout while I hike.  She is different than the lab we had before Callie.  Santana would run off and go do his own thing.  Callie will not go to far, and stops until I catch up to her.  You should see her when she does see a rabbit or deer!  After trying to "catch" them she comes back with what seems to be a huge smile on her.  One of these days I need to take my camera and take pictures of the wonderful world outside our fence.

Ryan as "Page" for the day

During spring break Ryan was able to be an honorary page at the Texas Capitol for our area rep. Patrick Rose.  It was a great learning experience for him, and Patrick Rose is still in his 20's and was a great role model for him.  He looked so handsome in his suit and tie.  Here are some pictures:
